Electron beam welding machines

Electron beam welding (EBW) is the most advanced and productive welding technology widely used by leading aircraft (motor, space, etc.) plants.

The undisputable advantages of electron beam welding over other technologies are as follows:

1. Even materials with high thermal conductivity such as steel (including stainless steel), aluminum and its alloys, copper and its alloys, nickel alloys and high-melting alloys, titan and its alloys can be welded. Furthermore, different materials having substantially different melting temperatures such as copper and steel, copper and nickel alloy, tantalum and tungsten, nickel and steel allow, etc. can be welded as well.
2. Low deformation of metals after welding.
3. High repeatability and identical quality of welding of the first and last parts.
4. Welding of metals as thick as 200 mm for one weld pass.
5. Solderless welding, i.e., two metal parts are joined without any additives.
6. Welding in vacuum whereby penetration of foreign particles and air bubbling in a welded joint are precluded.
7. Shielding gas is not used.
8. Low electric power consumption and correspondingly low cost of operation.
9. High reliability of the machines with low maintenance requirements.
10. Long trouble-free operation of the equipment.
